We are currently experiencing a heat wave here in Montreal and I am not complaining. Luckily enough I have access to water sources and all my boyfriends baggy t-shirts to help keep me cool.
Keeping cool often means dressing casual which is usually quite all right with me. Jeans and t-shirts will forever be staples in my wardrobe no matter the season; I feel like the opportunities are endless. Pairing simple basics with a heal or more of a statement shoe is one way to amp up any look.
I paired my current favourite boyfriend style shorts along with my actual boyfriends basic t-shirt and dressed up the look by adding another favourite item, the most comfortable Michael Kors wedges.

How do you keep cool and still dress in style during the summer? Do you have any tips and tricks you’d like to share? Let me know…. you know I love to hear from you!
I received this fun and fabulous skirt from a dear friend of mine and it holds a special place in my heart. I don’t pull it out so often because it is definitely an item that shouldn’t over worn and saved for a hot summer day where the wind is not present.
Every time I do decide to pull out this favourite skirt of mine, it is always a conversation piece among many. As soon as I step out my door I am counting down the moments until the first comment and I can’t help but to smile a little.
This is one of my favourite parts of having unique statement pieces in my wardrobe and what keeps me always on the lookout for more.A beautiful garment is art and I think it’s a super exciting thought to be able to wear art…. when the time is right.
Do you have a piece of your own that you like to bring out from time to time that always seems to strike up a conversation? Does the item hold a special place in your heart as well?
You know I love to hear from you!
This week has been unseasonably chilly and it most definitely caught me off guard. Considering last weeks posts had me blabbing on about the hot temperatures we have been experiencing here in Montreal. With this said, I am not going to reflect on the negative but think about the positive; the upcoming warm temperatures this weekend.
Having fun with my style on the weekend is something I look forward to and when the sun is out and the weather is hot I feel even more open to explore my style. Playing around with outfit ideas for the upcoming week and my blog posts really ignites a fire within my soul but I know it’s easier said than done. I understand that pairing bold patterns and bright colours doesn’t always file under “comfort zone” for everyone but if you are curious about having fun with some outfits of your own I recommend trying it out with casual weekend fashion first.
As the weekend is quickly rolling in, I’ll leave you with a casual yet funky take on my weekend wear. Funky and bold patterned top, ripped boyfriend jeans and the staple shoe of the season; a white simple white sneaker.

There’s something about the way I feel when I toss on a simple summer dress. It’s light material and relaxed structure makes me feel free and ready to embrace the summer heat.
A dainty pairing of a summer dress and sandals also makes me reminisce of the days when I was a child and my mother would put me in dresses that my grandmother made me. I would dance around in the yard as happy as can be.
One time my mother had gotten me dressed and left me to play. She was busy in the kitchen, taking her eye away from me for just a short moment. She then realized I was no longer in her sight and she was looking all over for me. Her last thought was to look outside, there I was in a dress my grandmother made me, playing in the long grass and dandelions. This is a picture that has remained on my parents fridge since the day it was printed.
I was born in a small town surrounded by nature and all things green. I truly count myself lucky to be able to have had these kinds of moments as a child. Now a days I have such an appreciation for all the little moments from my past and I will cherish them forever.
To this day… I still love to put on a simple summer dress and frolic outside… sometimes even playing with a dandelion or two.
What’s one of your favourite childhood memories that you will cherish forever? Share them with me if you’d like! I love to hear from you.
It’s been awhile since I last shared with you a wrap up of my monthly favourite items so I am talking a break today from the regular outfit posts to share with you a couple of my favourite beauty products I had the chance of testing out during the month of May.
For pretty much all of my life I have struggled with problems with my teeth. During the past few years I was fortunate enough to be able to complete a few dental procedures to fix many of the cosmetic aspects of my teeth. One of the procedures happened to be professional teeth whitening; a process that was painful but left my teeth stunningly white. Unfortunately after a short period of time, my teeth started to fade away from the pristine white colour they once were and getting teeth whitening done again just wasn’t in the budget. I started trying out different kinds of whitening tooth pastes and although I can say that I did see slight results, they weren’t as great as I had hoped. Recently I started testing out Nu Skins AP Gorgeous Bright Fluoride Whitening Toothpaste and was thrilled with the results. Within the first couple of uses I started to see my teeth really becoming noticeably whiter, even on certain problem areas on my teeth where plaque can build up. I will keep you updated with this teeth whitening journey and provide you a final outcome when I have finished the paste. Until then, if you are interested in trying out the product you can by it here.
Another product I have currently been loving from Nu Skin is their Replenishing Lipstick in shade Berry Glaze. I thought this shade would be the perfect addition to my collection for summer. I will admit that when I received the product the shade looked much darker than I expected but once on your lips that isn’t the case at all. I ended up loving the colour and it really is a great shade for summer to switch up from my regular nude and pink lipsticks. I was really impressed with how long-lasting the lipstick was. I literally can go the majority of the day without a reapplication. It also feels amazing on my lips with a smooth application that dried in a matte like finish.
Because I am so excited about these two new beauty finds I’ve partnered up with Isabel Beauty from Nu Skin to provide you with the chance to win BOTH of these products.

It seems as though summer is really here. The month of May came and went in a flash and the weather has really heated up. Here in Montreal we have already reached temperatures close to 30 degrees celsius numerous times and I have been HOT. Not just the kind of hot that comes and goes but the hot you feel in the middle of summer. The kind of hot where all you want to do is jump in the closest open water source as soon as possible.
I promise you I am NOT complaining… trust me. Let me ask you this… do you agree with me that these are the moments we block out of our memory when we are missing sunny, warm days in the midst of a gloomy winter day. The winter days when we find ourselves struggling to get out of our driveway because the snow is too darn high. I’m sure all you Canadian readers know exactly what I am talking about.
As I envision a moment pretty much exactly as I described is making me laugh out loud to myself. It’s so funny how the human mind works. It is so easy for us to glorify a positive moment in the midst of a crappy one, leading us to wish for that “better” moment to come sooner. It’s even easier to make it seem as though this glorifying moment trumps anything else when in truth…. does it really?
These are the kind of moments I like to use to reflect on trying to focus on living in the moment. Appreciating every moment for what it is. I think I am truly blessed to be able to experience multiple seasons throughout the year and I am fully enjoying this current summer heat!
What would you prefer? A super hot summers night; sticky and sleepless OR a chilly winters day full of delayed commutes because of the snow?
