We are currently experiencing a heat wave here in Montreal and I am not complaining. Luckily enough I have access to water sources and all my boyfriends baggy t-shirts to help keep me cool.
Keeping cool often means dressing casual which is usually quite all right with me. Jeans and t-shirts will forever be staples in my wardrobe no matter the season; I feel like the opportunities are endless. Pairing simple basics with a heal or more of a statement shoe is one way to amp up any look.
I paired my current favourite boyfriend style shorts along with my actual boyfriends basic t-shirt and dressed up the look by adding another favourite item, the most comfortable Michael Kors wedges.

How do you keep cool and still dress in style during the summer? Do you have any tips and tricks you’d like to share? Let me know…. you know I love to hear from you!
I received this fun and fabulous skirt from a dear friend of mine and it holds a special place in my heart. I don’t pull it out so often because it is definitely an item that shouldn’t over worn and saved for a hot summer day where the wind is not present.
Every time I do decide to pull out this favourite skirt of mine, it is always a conversation piece among many. As soon as I step out my door I am counting down the moments until the first comment and I can’t help but to smile a little.
This is one of my favourite parts of having unique statement pieces in my wardrobe and what keeps me always on the lookout for more.A beautiful garment is art and I think it’s a super exciting thought to be able to wear art…. when the time is right.
Do you have a piece of your own that you like to bring out from time to time that always seems to strike up a conversation? Does the item hold a special place in your heart as well?
You know I love to hear from you!
This week has been unseasonably chilly and it most definitely caught me off guard. Considering last weeks posts had me blabbing on about the hot temperatures we have been experiencing here in Montreal. With this said, I am not going to reflect on the negative but think about the positive; the upcoming warm temperatures this weekend.
Having fun with my style on the weekend is something I look forward to and when the sun is out and the weather is hot I feel even more open to explore my style. Playing around with outfit ideas for the upcoming week and my blog posts really ignites a fire within my soul but I know it’s easier said than done. I understand that pairing bold patterns and bright colours doesn’t always file under “comfort zone” for everyone but if you are curious about having fun with some outfits of your own I recommend trying it out with casual weekend fashion first.
As the weekend is quickly rolling in, I’ll leave you with a casual yet funky take on my weekend wear. Funky and bold patterned top, ripped boyfriend jeans and the staple shoe of the season; a white simple white sneaker.

There’s something about the way I feel when I toss on a simple summer dress. It’s light material and relaxed structure makes me feel free and ready to embrace the summer heat.
A dainty pairing of a summer dress and sandals also makes me reminisce of the days when I was a child and my mother would put me in dresses that my grandmother made me. I would dance around in the yard as happy as can be.
One time my mother had gotten me dressed and left me to play. She was busy in the kitchen, taking her eye away from me for just a short moment. She then realized I was no longer in her sight and she was looking all over for me. Her last thought was to look outside, there I was in a dress my grandmother made me, playing in the long grass and dandelions. This is a picture that has remained on my parents fridge since the day it was printed.
I was born in a small town surrounded by nature and all things green. I truly count myself lucky to be able to have had these kinds of moments as a child. Now a days I have such an appreciation for all the little moments from my past and I will cherish them forever.
To this day… I still love to put on a simple summer dress and frolic outside… sometimes even playing with a dandelion or two.
What’s one of your favourite childhood memories that you will cherish forever? Share them with me if you’d like! I love to hear from you.
I completely took advantage of the warm temperatures last week and was loving feeling bright in all my summer clothes. I even have some burnt shoulders to prove it (oops!). Although the past couple of days have been a bit of a downer weather wise… let me remind you that the temperature is only going to go back up!
Lately I have been feeling very casual when it comes to styling outfits and comfort is always on my mind. I have many dresses in my wardrobe that I have worn for more formal occasions which then end up remaining there until the next formal occasion. Thinking about this, I inspired myself to style some of these dresses for a more casual setting.
I paired this bright and floral summer dress from Winners with a plain t-shirt along these lace up Oxford’s from Zara to create a funky yet casual vibe. I felt that adding the plain shirt under the tank dress immediately dressed the outfit down. Also, pairing the look with a flat shoe versus a heel was what perfected the outfit.
What do you all think about dressing down dresses? Do you struggle to repurpose dresses after wearing them once?
Drop me a message! I’d love to hear from you 🙂

There’s something about a good pair of fancy pants. You know, the ones that you put on and automatically make you feel 10 times more professional? For me, when I put on my fancy pants I immediately feel like a boss- ready to tackle that day.
I personally believe that it’s better to over dress than under dress and always dress the part. Even in a more casual work environment where there is no need for a complete suit and heals, I find myself feeling more alert and ready to get things accomplished that day if I am dressing the part- wearing my fancy pants.
For those reading that work in a casual atmosphere and are not sure how comfortable they are with dressing more formally for work, do not stress- I promise it is simple. When stressing, think of the words mix and match. What I mean by this is mix a casual piece with a more formal piece. I dressed down my fancy pants with a casual white t-shirt along with some more edgy heals. Another suggestion is pairing a dress with lace up flats like these or a trendier pair of sneakers like these.

How do you feel about these styling suggestions? Do you think that you are now ready to dress the part and feel like a boss? 😀
